Bahamas
The spouse and I celebrated the onset of autumn this year with a trip to the Bahamas. We took a lot of above and underwater video and pictures. Here are some highlights.
This was taken on the west bridge that links Nassau to Paradise Island.
Ferries run back and forth from Nassau to Paradise Island. Here is an interior.
September/October are the off-season. Construction and repair was underway to prepare for the next deluge. This hotel was being stripped and repainted.
Pink is the official country color. Here is the government house. Conch shells are ground up and used in concrete because they do not decompose quickly. This gives concrete a pinkish color.
If you take a snorkeling tour or a trip to another island, you may depart from this area. Various boats load here. In this shot you can see both of the bridges that link Nassau to Paradise Island.
A 14th century monastery was transplanted to Paradise Island in the 1920s.
It was refurbished in 1964.
We hid here during a rainstorm one day. It was pretty close to the hotel.
This gazebo (?) can be seen from the bay.
If you zoom in, you can see a statue of FDR that was added to this area.
I took a few pictures of Christ Church’s Cathedral interior while one of our tour groups was spooling up. The tour sampled various dishes, we went to a few local restaurants.
At the hotel where we stayed, the swimming pool is integrated with the bar.
